Reading Recognition

For as long as I can remember, reading has been a passion of mine. Long before I knew how to read, my parents and grandparents would read to me and tell me stories. My love for reading and storytelling was born from that. My shelves were always filled with books, and once I learned to read, there was no stopping me. I’m sure during college, there were times I didn’t have as much time to read leisurely like I do now. But, it’s always been my stress-reliever, my escape and something that keeps me sane in the chaos and when real life is a bit too much.

I’m still an avid reader, and Kindle Unlimited (on my phone, Kindle and iPad) has made it more convenient than ever to read when I have a few moments waiting at an appointment, a long car ride (when I’m in the passenger’s seat and don’t feel nauseous), sitting on the couch for downtime after work or reading a few minutes before I turn the light out at night.

All of this to say, the written word and books still mean everything to me. I love and encourage the power of reading. It can take you to other worlds, help you better understand people who are different from you or simply learn something you didn’t before. To me, it helps feel more well-rounded and cultured with the world around me. As you can see by my Kindle challenges and reading insights below, especially since 2021.
